Hey! Moritz here. Welcome back to another edition of The Prompt Warrior.

As always, my mission is to transform you into an AI prompt expert.

In this post, we're going to explore how to improve the quality of your writing using ChatGPT. I've been incorporating these techniques into my daily routine, using them to add a bit of magic to everything I write. I use these for example to spruce up my tweets or my newsletter.

Let's dive right in and discover how to give your writing a boost.

Before we begin, a big thank you to our sponsors who keep this newsletter free to the reader:

Personally, I find this particularly useful to rapidly test out a concept for a new product or service. Let AI create your landing page and start testing it with real users instantly!

💬 The 5 alternatives

Often when I'm writing a sentence, I find myself needing a touch of inspiration to figure out better, more compelling ways to say it.

I’ll use this strategy when I'm crafting a catchy headline or brainstorming a Twitter hook. This technique can really make the difference and turn ordinary into extraordinary.

Prompt:

"Give me 5 alternative ways to say this:
[enter your text]"

Here’s an example:

💥 Find more powerful descriptions

Let's take that technique we just discussed and get a bit more specific with it. So, you've crafted a sentence, and it's pretty good, but there are a few words that just aren't shining the way you want them to.

Here's a trick: introduce a constraint into your prompt and tell ChatGPT to look for alternative words within a certain range. That way, you can refine your sentence without losing the essence of what you want to say. It's all about that fine-tuning!

Prompt:

"Give me 5 powerful ways to fill in the blank:
ChatGPT is ... writing assistant."

Example:

🔁 Rewrite your text

ChatGPT is a total champ when it comes to revamping text. The coolest part is, it lets me jot down my thoughts quickly, almost like a braindump, without fussing over the details. I just write away, knowing ChatGPT will step in later to tidy everything up. It's a real time-saver.

Prompt:

"Rewrite the following text and make the sentences clearer (Tone:casual):
[paste your text]"

I actually used it just now. See for yourself:

💯 Critique using the AIDA framework

Here's another fun way to use ChatGPT: get it to critique your text. Yes, it can give you feedback, much like a virtual editor. And to make this process even more effective, I often employ the AIDA framework. If you haven't heard of it, it's a super handy tool for evaluating your writing.

Prompt:

"Critique this text using the AIDA framework:
[paste your text]"

Here’s an example:

That’s it for today!
